Inspired

So I haven't blogged in a really long time...and I've experienced a lot of changes in life. So, if you actually read my blog- let me update you!

  • I now am a personal banker for Wells Fargo, and I moved back to Salt Lake City
  • I am single, because I chose to stand up for myself and not be with someone who was less than what I deserve
  • I have learned that to be happy- you have to surround yourself with positive people and happy places.
  • I live in Sandy...and i'm enjoying every part of my crazy life :)

Now, going on to what my post is about- I recently got off the phone with my Mother, we talked for an hour- and these conversations I will never forget. She is the most amazing and inspiring woman anyone could have in their life & I appreciate her more than she will ever know. She said a few things to me that stuck out, and I will never forget it. Every time I talk to her I learn something and she gives me the motivation to go do something with myself. Today I did.

She helps me remember how big my heart really is, sometimes I forget  that after dating someone for so long and not being treated how I deserve, and I spend so much time trying to make them happy that I forget to go out of my way for other people around me. No matter where I am in life, my Mom always reminds me who I am and what I stand for.

We were talking about getting older, and life changes, we talked a lot about losing people we love and how important family is. She has a friend that started a journal for each one of her kids- since the day she was pregnant she created a journal and put everything in it- bad and good. She gave it to her kids on their graduation day. What an amazing present! My mom said sometimes she wishes that she could have been a better Mother for me and my brothers. All of a sudden, it hit me. Yesterday is in the past for a reason, no one can go back and change anything. Thats why today I decided that everything I want in life, I will have. No one wil stand in my way.

I want to change for the better, I want to fall in love with someone who believes in love and truly respects me. I want to have kids and be an amazing role-model, I might even go to school...who knows. All I know is that I am 24 years young, I don't have a husband, and I don't have kids. What is a better time to create the life I want?

So here is where I just applied, and where the change in my life will start.... Big Brothers & Sisters of Utah
I will keep you updated :)

Who's that girl....IT'S JESS!

I am OBSESSED w/ this t.v. series. If you haven't watched it - I highly suggest it.
Heres the basics:
  • Girl catches bf cheating on her
  • She moves in with 3 random guys from Craigslist
  • She is adorable, hilarious, and awkward.
Seriously, I have already watched every episode on Season 1. You can watch it for free on fox.com

Oh & did I mention how it was MADE for me? The girl is just like me, except I don't sing- and I live with 2 random guys not 3, oh & my bf didn't cheat on me but I'm still going through a heart break. Anyway. Check it out- you won't be mad you did :)

Something So Easy

We all want to be someones hero, we all want to save a life, and one day we all want world peace. So what's so easy about doing it? Well we have to start somewhere. The other day I had what I call a "horrible" day, business is down, my team isn't where I want them to be, I didn't get to spend xmas with my family & my boyfriend had to go back to UT. Probably the worst thing you've ever heard right? No. I realized that night, while reading up on the news that millions of people lost everything on the day that millions of people were given more than they deserve.

If you haven't heard already, on xmas day.... there were a lot of murders, burglaries and crime that will always be there. What I read, changed my mentality on everything. There were a couple stories; one was about an 18 yr old teen who lost the battle of cancer after giving birth to her baby boy that the doctors said she wouldn't be able to have. Another one was a teenage boy from Idaho who lost his battle of cancer a week after xmas. Christmas will never be the same for these people. It was then that I realized how foolish I was being for crying over something so stupid. I didn't get to be with my family for Christmas, but i'm so lucky that they are all still alive. My boyfriend went back home to UT, but he made it home and he's safe. My business is down, but I have a job and a car, and a house to live in.

This year, my New Years Resolution is to put my mind on everyone but myself. I'm sure it's easier said than done, but that is why i'm challenging myself. I am going to challenge myself to do all of these things;
  • Give to charity every chance I get- every transaction, every store, every time.
  • Adopt a family in need during Christmas
  • Start volunteering
  • Not cry when things don't go my way
  • Make a list of everything I have to appreciate-read it every morning.
  • Remind everyone that the best things in life, aren't things.
  • Skype with my friends & family at least once a week.
  • Say thank you- to everyone.
  • Smile for no reason
  • Go out of my way to make someone happy when I'm having a bad day
  • Choose happiness every morning
  • One simple act of kindness every day.
These all sound so easy, but we never remember to do them. Life is so short, too short to be selfish & try to make yourself happy when it's so easy to reach out and touch the life of someone else. However, as much as I wish I could be the difference- I can only help. I need to get my word out. I want everyone to be able to pick one thing from this list & live it every day. One person can't change the world, but a group of people can change anything. Who's going to help me?

Remember: Everyone is facing a battle, and it's always worse than our own.
