The "box"

First of all, Merry Christmas to everyone :) Hope you all got to spend it with the people you love. This xmas was a little different, it's the first one (of many) that I have spent without my parents...but, I got to spend it with Josh :) Now the story about "the box." So... after we had opened all of our xmas presents, there was one big box for me , from him. Inside was a shoe box- inside that was a kleenex box, a disposable camera and candy. Inside the kleenex box was a box of half eaten milano cookies, and inside that was a little jewelry box. NO NO. Not that kind of jewelry box ;) Inside the jewelry box was....... a pair of keys to Josh's apt!!! I thought it was the cutest thing EVER. Then he told me to go look under the bed- 3 more presents including a digital camera, a case, and a tripod. Obviously he spoiled me, and I had a wonderful xmas spent with him. I love my camera and i'm even more excited to move-in with him! ...down the road of course. Anyway, here's our morning faces...aka the first pic of us on our camera.

Six

Wow! Time flies when you're in love :) I can't believe Josh & I have been together for six months... some of you are looking at this wondering why it's a big deal, most of you know why. I am finally so happy, and so blessed to have Josh in my life. Just to give you an idea, here's 10 things I love about him!

1. He makes me smile when I want to yell at him or cry
2. He knows what "communication" is and we can talk through everything
3. He treats me the way I never thought i'd be treated... like a real queen
4. A day without him, is like a day without sleep
5. We can keep each other laughing till the sun goes down and comes back up
6. He still gives me butterflies
7. We are super comfortable around eachother
8. We tell eachother EVERY-THING
9. He says sorry
10. My family and friends LOVE him- especially my Mom. &&& he loves them :)

I know i'm cheesy, and if he ever sees this--- he will call me out on it, and call me a BIG cheeseball. I can't wait for the rest of the months, I mean... this is half a year, lets see if we make it to a full one. I know i'm crossing my fingers!

The meaning of December

What is December? Well... it's the 12th month of the year, the second month of Winter and most people think of Christmas, Santa, toys & kids. Until I read my friends blog... I always thought of those things. I think it is SO important to remember that this month, is the month of giving.

I was on my way home today listening to talk radio and they did a secret santa for a five year old girl who just got diagnosed w/ lukemia and her family. I was in TEARS listening to the story. It made me realize how many families are in need, and even though I might struggle on paying my bills or living paycheck to paycheck I still have a roof over my head, food in my fridge, clothes on my back, and friends and family by my side.

November was a time to be thankful, for all that we have... now let's make December the month to give. GIVE to the families that don't have a lot. If you live in Utah here is a site I found that you can go to, to help out:

Even just going to the local hospital and helping out, or visiting children in the "make a wish" foundation. There is always a family that could use extra help during the holidays, or a child that needs a miracle.

Two month post

Well, here it is the middle of November and I haven't made my "monthly" post. I have a love/hate relationship with this month, and all the other winter months. I hate the cold, but I love the season greetings, the Christmas spirit, the family time and the cold nights cuddled in with hot cocoa and a warm fire watching a movie. So far it has been a great month, here are some things that have happened:

• FINALLY got my benefits after 90 days @ The Buckle :) YAY for insurance!
• Josh got a new job, so far, so good. love the hours!
• Started some of my Christmas shopping
• Had a pre-Thanksgiving in Vernal w/ Josh & my family
• Visited Josh's parents/ grandma- got some ideas for Christmas presents!
• Put up the Christmas decorations at my house -Josh won't let me decorate his yet :(
• *5 Month* anniversary... he he
• FINALLY got to see my ador-able nephew Aiden (Brandi's little boy)- SO cute!
• Getting ready for BLACK FRIDAY madness at work

It's crazy how fast this year has gone, so I figure... I better do my December post at the same time! Here are some things i'm looking forward to:

Welcome Aiden

Congrats to Brandilyn Dilworth, aka my BEST FRIEND since middle school. It feels like yesterday when we were crushing on "sophomore" boys, begging our parents for a cerfew after midnight, and trying to be there for eachother through everything. We always said that we'd get married at the same time, live down the street from each other and be pregnant at the same time just like every best friend planned. Now I'm 3 hours away, with no kids and a full time job- oh and an amazing bf :) So I can't complain, but it's crazy how things work out. I am so happy for her, and look how adorable her baby boy is. I mean, I wouldn't expect less. We KNEW he was going to be cute. I just can't believe she is a Mom. It definately makes me tear up when I think about it. However, I know that I will be such an amazing mother because of the example of her and my other friends, and of course my own Mom. One day, I'll have a little miracle just like him, and my best friend will be there- I know it.

Annoyed

Okay so mainly this post is just because I feel like venting, and it's midnight and no one is awake to vent to... I also would love to hear peoples opinions. I am so annoyed by girls with border line eating disorders. Scenarios...

• Same age as me. 100 pounds. pops pills to go to sleep, hardly eats anything.
• Bulemic girl.... still works out? Chews a donut/pastry in her mouth for the taste-spits it out
• Decided to stop eating one day, snacks all day, sleeps more. Her leg looks like my forearm
• Eats cotton balls, and chases it with diet coke so it expands in her stomach and she's not hungry

Last week I woke up and decided I didn't like the way I looked. Muffin tops, and if I turned a weird way you could see a fat roll, and I was getting a gut. Eh, supposedly that happens when you get older and become an adult. I was still thinking I could eat the same way I did in highschool and not gain a pound, and Josh is an amazing cook so.... I'm guilty. Anyway! I started eating healthier, cutting carbs and sugars, and working out everyday! I am feeling so much better about myself :) It just makes me sick that those girls sit at home and sleep, pop pills, or snack all day and they are a size twenty-four and think it's healthy! I have ate a lot of food before, and felt so full, and wanted to puke- but I never did. AND I love food so much I could never neglect it, even this diet is hard! I have been wanting a damn cookie for a week now, but I am disciplined!

That's my vent for the day.... any opinions?

So.... these are MY FAVORITE shoes right now. They are sold at a lot of places, but I get mine at "Shi- by Journeys." The coolest thing about these shoes is that when you buy a pair- Toms donates a pair to a child who doesn't have any so you can't feel bad about shopping! haha They are the most comfortable shoe, and they are super cute w/ skinny jeans, shorts, capris...etc. LOVE them. Breakfast Time!

So... I don't have a name for this, it was an experimental breakfast I created @ Josh's house this morning but it turned out GREAT so I thought i'd share it. The picture does no justice- I'm not good at photographing food. Anyway, here's the recipe:

Ingredients:
Eggs
Bacon
Avacado
Salsa
Fresh Parmesan
Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Garlic powder
Basil
Milk
Salt & Pepper

So first pre-heat the oven at 375 degrees. Cook 4 pieces of bacon, and then chop up into little pieces. In a small bowl mix together 4-6 eggs and a little bit of milk along with the a little salt & pepper, and garlic powder. Spray a bread pan with non-stick spray and pour egg mixture into bottom. Throw in bacon pieces, and cover with basil and cheddar cheese. Put in oven for 15-20 minutes. When finished, slice fresh avacado on top and sprinkle fresh parmesan over that :) Serve w/ salsa, or hot sauce.

That's pretty much it, kind of boring... but.... ya know. haha.

Another Movie...

Man, I have been to way too many movies lately! haha. Josh & I went to this the other day, and we didn't stop laughing! Such a cute movie , and I'm a huge fan of Pixar films so that helps. If you have kids, or if you're just a kid at heart go watch it! I wouldn't mind seeing it again... *hint hint*

Catch up time!

So.... I have been slacking on my blog, and I've gone to lots of new movies and done lots of new things so now it's time to play catch up :) Here we go....

This was such a cute/ funny movie, I LOVED it. Having waited for 11 years for it (hehe). I would definately go see it again!

Oh my heck, I am so GLAD I didn't listen to everyone that gave this movie bad reviews... I laughed SO hard. Definately a go-see, and I would see it again FOR SURE :) go see it for a great laugh.



We all know this was a good one! If you didn't see my post on "New Moon" I have never been a twilight fan, and I've never read the books- but I LOVE the movies. I'm pretty sure it was Jacob who made me decide that I love this movie, buttttt Edward has his days too. Anyway, great movie, go see it if you haven't already :)

Wow... I swear summer just started, and it's a month away from being over :( It goes way too fast! July is always such a fun month though, and I'm excited for lots of things! Like....

Reviews

(our campsite)

First off.... Lake Powell was FANTASTIC. I had so much fun! We came back with sand in every orphis of our body, mysterious bruises, and somehow I had a gash in my head with no idea where it came from. Pictures are up on my fbook I didn't take a camera but I was tagged in a lot! ....Most of which I don't remember :) hehe. The first two days were absolutely gorgeous! So warm and nice, then Friday & Saturday were pretty rainy and cold and then the day we went home was BEAUTIFUL.

Eminem's new album, and usually i'm not a fan of his music. He has always sang about killing his wife, people killing themselves, smacking ass, and smoking/drinking till he's dead. BUT This new cd...hence the name "Recovery" is all the good stuff. If you don't believe me, download the song "Love the way you lie" ft Rihanna. The other good one is "Not afraid." You might not like it as much as I do, but in my life and throughout it i've had a lot of people go on all the bad paths and this just makes me believe that one day they will recover.

This movie..... I don't even know why i'm reviewing it. I laughed a few times, but I went into it thinking it was "100 times better than the Hangover/Superbad" .... and it wasn't. I don't think i'll see it again unless by chance someone is watching it at their house. If you have a weird sense of humor, go see it. Otherwise it's pretty dumb.

Yummy!

So I dunno how many of you know, but I LOVE cooking. Lately I've just been throwing a bunch of stuff together because we hardly have any food and we're kind of poor with all the moving shiz. Luckily I have a mind of my own in the kitchen and yesterday I threw together, amazing.....

Teriyaki Chicken Bowls

Ingredients:

1 box of easy to make "teriyaki rice"
1-2 defrosted chicken breasts

2 eggs

Tinfoil

soy sauce/teriyaki sauce

butter

1 red pepper

2 stalks of broccoli

pinch of Ginger seasoning

pinch of Black Pepper

Directions:

Set oven to 375 degrees bake. On a cookie sheet spread out the tinfoil. In a separate bowl mix together a spoonful of melted butter, one egg and a few different seasonings. Dip chicken breasts into mixture and then place on tinfoil. Place in oven for 15-20 minutes.

Next- start your Teriyaki Rice, directions on box/bag. Let sit on the side until chicken is ready. While everything is cooking, in a separate bowl chop up the broccoli and place in a microwaveable bowl with about two tbs of butter and microwave till it is melted. Chop up the red pepper and mix in with the rice, and broccoli. Cut up the chicken and mix it all up in a frying pan, throw in the other egg till it's scrambled, mix in some soy sauce/teriyaki sauce and then serve :)

My FAVORITE month!

It's finally......... JUNE! This is my favorite month!! Not only is my bday on June 20th, BUT it's when Summer really takes off, camping starts, and the fun begins! A lot of things are planned for this month. My friend Alexx turns 21 on the 3rd. Lake Powell trip June 9th-14th!!!! House warming party when we get home, my 22nd birthday (not too excited for that..haha) BACKSTREET BOYS concert on the 23rd. *SO EXCITED* Hopefully I get to find out if my best friend Brandi is having a boy or girl! :) Oh and her 22nd bday is on the 18th!............annnnnd Whitney & Myla are coming to visit!!! I'm sure more fun things will come about, but these are what I have planned SO FAR.

What a GREAT week!!

This has been such a great week, at first when I thought things weren't going my way everything changed! I have had the best luck , for instance:

We got approved for our new place

My renters don't need the washer and dryer so now we have one!

I'll be able to move in tomorrow night

I've been pulled over 3 times (my tail light is out)and still no ticket knock on wood

A lady I know is just giving me her 45 inch tv w/ a tv stand

My Mom gets to come out and visit/help!

That's all for now but all I've got to say is ....

Approved :)

Well! Today me, Kara and Alyssa got approved for our new place in Sandy!!! We move in this weekend! Hooray!!! :) Oh!....and our backyard is a picnic table and swing set! Can't wait to lay out by the pool and ride our bikes around this summer- i'm so ready for some roommate fun!

Denver

I had SO much fun when Ash & I took a visit to Denver, CO. The drive was a long one- 8 hours through Wyoming (most boring place ever). Some things we did were:

• Whitney & I got to catch up!
• I learned lots of yummy recipes
• I got to play with a beautiful little girl
• Learned some new DIY projects
• Went and saw Iron Man2
• Visited my cousin
• Went to my first 18+ huka bar (recommendation: 21+ ONLY)
• Learned that fry sauce and AMF's are a Utah thing
• Saw the biggest liquor store i've EVER seen.
• Went shopping- of course-
• Had a great GNO at a hilarious comedy club
• Danced on a pole at the "RockRest"
• Played "shuffle-board" for the first time
• Met a cute boy :)

As you can see.... we did A LOT. Even the days we just hung out, I had so much fun- it was great to go visit Whitney, Taylor & Myla. She looks so great and i'm so glad to see them all happy :) Hope I see her sooner than later! Here's some pics, enjoy!

BEST movie ever. Absolutely loved it :) ......already seen it twice. GO SEE IT! Tony Stark *Robert Downey Jr.* is SOOOO hot. WOW.

Movie Review

This was a really cute movie, however the whole time sitting through it.... I might have decided I don't like love stories. For all of you who know me, this is really rare... i'm usually all about "happily ever afters" .... but it's not my first choice of movie now days. BUT Go see it, it's adorable...and hilarious.

The Hills Season 7

Well.. it's finally here! Season 7 here we go... get ready for DRAMA. I can already see it. Here are some of my predictions:

1. Heidi is going to lose ALL confidence
2. Spencer is going to go crazy (more than he already is).
3. Kristin will be the next one in rehab
4. Heidi is the next Michael Jackson
5. Lauren will be counting her blessings that she isn't on this show anymore
6. Brody will sleep with whatever blonde gives him attention
7. Audrina gets a new boy and forgets about her stupid ex :)
8. Lo is going to get caught up in all of it, like always- she will be the next Lauren and get out
9. Spencer's sister (jessica?) don't even know her name will get another D.U.I.
   
10. SO MUCH DRAMA

Things I already know from seeing the first episode:

1. Heidi's mom is my favorite. LMAO "do you want me to put it in a blender for you"

BUT let's be honest..... I missed all last season cuz I don't have time to watch every episode :( ... but i'll catch up when I can! This season is going to be so good though.

Experimentin' In The Kitchen

So, last night I knew I had to make something with the ground beef I had in the fridge- but I didn't want to make boring hamburger helper, or tacos. SO. I got creative. I created my own kind of beef enchiladas- just through together what I had, and to be honest, they were SO good. I didn't take any pictures but here's the recipe if you want to try it out. It's really EASY :)

Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 bottle of "light Ragu Tomato & Basil" sauce
1 red pepper- chopped
1 can chopped green chiles (optional)
1 avacado (optional)
Grated cheese
Garlic powder
Chili Powder
Tortillas

Directions:
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and then add HALF of the tomato sauce, keep some to put on the top of the enchiladas. Sprinkle in some garlic powder, chili powder and whatever other seasonings you want to add and mix in chopped red peppers, and green chiles. Next, set your oven to 350 degrees- and lightly grease a casserole dish. Spoon meat mixture into tortilla, sprinkle with cheese and salsa wrap up and set in caserole dish, do this until your caserole dish is full. Pour the remaining beef/sauce mixture on top , sprinkle with cheese and bake for 20-30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.

After it is cooled, slice some avacado and put on top.

Well , it's April. I'm a little late updating my blog. My blog is kind of boring since I have no kids, and no husband... haha but oh well. This month i'm focusing more on work, and less time off for a bigger paycheck so there's only a few things i'm looking foward to:

Besties 21st

YAYYY Alyssa is finally 21! To celebrate we went to Downstairs @ Park City, on a party bus w/ a pole, and drank way too much. hahaha. However, it was SO much fun :) Excited for my new bar hopping friend! love you Lyss!

Single Awareness Day

Pretty blurry pic- but this is how I spent my "Valentines" haha...with all my single friends :) We all went to dinner at Spaghetti Mama's, and went to the movie "Valentines Day." SUPER CUTE movie! Go see it if you haven't already, a lot of great actors/actresses.

Maybe next year i'll have a real Valentine.... if not, I'll always have my girlfriends!

Movie Reviews- Nicholas Sparks

Nicholas Sparks is an amazing author- and I'm so glad that they made movies out of his books. I never did read these two, but I loved both of the movies :)

Just watched this today, it starts out slow but it's really good. I definately bawled like a baby, but I'd still recommend it.

Wow... This movie was so adorable. I cried, and laughed. I would definately recommend it, and I wouldn't mind seeing it again :)

Breakthrough

Happy Birthday Whit!

Happy Birthday to one of my BESTEST friends! It seems like yesterday when we were celebrating her 21st with all of our friends in VEGAS. Time flies!! This girl is a great mother, and an amazing best friend. I am so proud of her and so happy for her new beginning. She has helped me out so much in my life, always been there for me, and supports me even when she doesn't want to. I miss you WHIT! Have the best bday ever :) love you girl!

February- Blah Blah Blah

Well, already a month into the new year. I will admit it's been great so far, I feel better about myself and I've made a lot of changes. This month is going to be "the reunion" month, a lot of visits from a lot of people. Some things I'm looking forward to are:

• Vegas! 2nd-4th
• MAYBE getting a tattoo
• My BFF's bday
• My cousin Dusten coming to visit
• The movie "Dear John" coming out
• New music, new movies, new shows
• Getting to the end of "The Bachelor"
• Kicking ass @ work w/ Natalie
• When Miquel comes to see me!
• Seeing Tiff and the kids

Vegas. Tore up- from the Toe up.

WOW. Vegas- only there for two days, but It was a great vacation! First time being there since i've turned 21, definately worth it. I stayed at Planet Hollywood- and to be honest, it was REALLY cheap but I was very impressed, I recommend it. I also got my first tattoo (yes I was sober), and I'm normally a chicken so I'm pretty proud of myself for going through with it. Here are some pics from the vacation.

My 1st tattoo :) It says Destiny, if you flip it upside down it says Choice. One of my favorite sayings is "Remember the choices you make in life determine your destiny."

The shoes that created the blisters- and the blood, yet they lasted for a great NIGHT! Mine are the top ones, Adriana's are the bottom ones.

Countdown to Vegas!

2,1.....BLAST OFF! Only two more days till I take off to the lovely place of sunshine and hangovers! HAHA. Can't wait!! :) I haven't been to VEGAS since Whitney's b-day party around the exact same time last year (which was a blast by the way).

Things I still need to do:

• Get a pedicure
• Go tanning
• Pack the rest of everything
• Maybe more shopping...
• Work another day ...ugh that will be hard!

I have finally gotten a tanning pass and started to get some color and I really am feeling so much better about myself now that I'm not so white- plus I'm going to Vegas next Tues-Thurs so I need to look tan in my dresses i'm taking :)

Washing my face! I know - this is weird... don't get me wrong, I have always washed my face. However lately, I can't go to bed without doing it- I can't sleep if my makeup is still on and my teeth haven't been brushed, I love washing my face!! haha.

Movie Review: New Moon

Notice the date 11-20-09, it is now two months later that I was dragged to go see this movie. If you read my post about "Road trip w/ Mom" you know I am not a Twilight fan. I watched the first one over Thanksgiving and I wasn't impressed- I thought it was pretty cheesy. I never even got through the first book. BUT, I will now thank my Mom and nieces for dragging me to go see this movie. I LOVED it! (I bought book three yesterday). It could be because Jacob has the nicest body i've ever seen and truly loves Bella.... or the fact that Edward showed up anytime she took a risk and she'd do anything to see his face if it meant risking her life. I better not say much more- but if you haven't seen it, GO SEE IT! Team Edward or Team Jacob... it's a toss up!

Road trip w/ Mom!

This weekend my Mom and I went to go visit my nieces in St. George. We had so much fun, and the weather was GREAT. High 50's all weekend...which might not be warm but it's definately warmer than it is in Pleasant Grove/Vernal. We took the girls and my nephew to an arcade called Fiesta Fun, I'm a kid at heart when it comes to arcades so I had a lot of fun, that night we went to Pizza Factory and then swimming at the hotel. I wanted to go see the movie "Princess & The Frog" .... and my nieces wanted to go see "Twilight-New Moon", I've never seen my mom get so excited. If any of you know me, I am not a Twilight fan, I tried reading the first book and got half way through it in the amount of time it took all my friends to read the first and second one. I never got interested and I thought it was really cheesy....but, turns out I loved the 2nd movie. HAHA. Overall it was a great trip and it felt so nice to get away!!

My best friend Miquel had their baby boy! Cougan is FINALLY here!!!! Unfortunately I wasn't there BUT I will be soon! Then I can post pics :) I'm so happy for her, they have the cutest little family! Love you guys!

Wow! I cannot even believe how fast time flies and how life changes. This girl is one of my best friends, she has always been there for me and has supported me through everything, even when she didn't want to. I know she will be the most amazing Mother to Myla. Unfortunately she now lives in Denver, CO so I won't see her much but I'm so happy for her. New beginning, a family, and the most beautiful baby girl. Looks like I will be going to Denver more often ;) and Skype is now the new chat! haha.

January!

It's the beginning of a GREAT year! I honestly feel like a different person after the New Years countdown- and I LOVE it. Here are some things i'm looking forward to this month:

• Going to Vernal (okay not excited about that)
• Seeing Whitney & Myla
• Hanging out w/ my Grandma!

2010

Wow! Where did 2009 go!? ... Wherever it went, I hope it never comes back! Let's just say.. I have a lot of things I am changing this year and I plan on making better decisions, staying away from bad ones, and respecting myself more. One thing I haven't decided yet is if i'm going to say "two-thousand and ten" or "twenty ten." I'm thinking twenty-ten sounds much cooler...and it kind of rolls off the tongue easier. I can't wait to see what will happen this year I'm so anxious! I have learned a lot about myself, and other people, every year I learn something different.
Things I have learned in the last year are...

NYE

So every year I have dreaded New Years Eve.... it has always been overrated and I've never had a good time. BUT This year, was the best NYE by FAR...and I did it all sober :) My guy friends rented a cabin up in Park City, one of their friends came and DJ'd and we had a huge dance floor- I got a great new years eve kiss, AND I stayed up WAY too late! (7:45AM)... yea. Then we woke up at 10am , the boys made a huge breakfast and then I came home and slept. Anyway, it was the best New Years i've had for a long time. I hope everyone had a safe and great night!
